What is Scania VCI3 — and what is it for

The Scania VCI3 Full Chip Diagnostic Interface is the official communication tool between the technician's computer and all electronic systems of Scania trucks, buses, and stationary engines. It is the same interface used by authorized Scania dealerships in Brazil and worldwide.

With the VCI3, the technician accesses the SDP3 (Scania Diagnos & Programmer 3) software and can read faults, calibrate components, activate actuators, program replacement parts, and update engine parameters — all directly via the vehicle's CAN network.

The Full Chip version ensures full compatibility with all Scania modules and systems, without functional limitations.

Connectivity

The VCI3 operates via Wi-Fi, eliminating physical cables between the interface and the laptop during diagnostics. The connection to the vehicle is made through the standard Scania OBD connector, present in all compatible models.

⚠️ The VCI3 is not compatible with Scania vehicles manufactured before 2004.
