Siemens SID 901 ECU — Ford Ranger 3.0D (Piezoelectric Injectors)
The Siemens SID 901 is the electronic injection control unit for the Ford Ranger 3.0D, one of the first common rail systems to use piezoelectric injectors in a pickup truck in Brazil. Unlike traditional solenoid injectors, piezoelectric injectors operate by crystal deformation — the response is up to five times faster, allowing for multiple injections per cycle and more precise combustion.
It manages four piezoelectric injection channels (injectors 1, 2, 3, and 4), the fuel pump relay, the internal atmospheric pressure sensor, and the piezoelectric injector protection circuit — a critical component, as damage to this circuit can transfer surges to the injectors themselves and damage them. It features an AM29BL802CB EPROM memory that stores injection and calibration maps.
