The pre-HPI generation: Injector Units and Bosch MS 6.2
The Bosch MS 6.2 is the electronic engine management unit used in Scania 4 Series trucks (94, 114, 124, and 144 series) equipped with a mechanical Injector Unit (IU) injection system — the generation prior to the HPI system.
In this system, each cylinder is controlled by an individual injector unit, which combines the function of a pump and an injector in a single component. The Bosch MS 6.2 manages six injector unit actuation channels (grouped into two sets: IU 1-2-3 and IU 4-5-6) and coordinates all engine management functions: rotation, temperature, pressure, engine brake, and CAN communication with other vehicle systems.
ECM Tech Center specializes in diagnosis, repair, and remanufacturing of the Bosch MS 6.2 for the entire Scania 4 Series line.

Internal Architecture — Critical Repair Points
The Bosch MS 6.2 uses external PSOP memory to store calibration and injection maps, unlike ECUs with integrated processor memory. This has important practical implications:
PSOP memory failure results in loss of calibration — engine won't start or runs with incorrect parameters. PSOP re-flashing is performed as part of the repair process, when necessary.
Failure in IU actuation circuits results in cylinders with incorrect injection: excessive smoke, reduced power, or unstable idle.
Other components evaluated in the diagnostic: main processor, voltage regulator (24V → 5V), protection circuit, rotation sensors (CKP), pressure and temperature sensors, CAN protocol decoder, and individual circuits for each IU (1 to 6) with groups 1-2-3 and 4-5-6.
Compatibility — Scania 4 Series with Injector Units

Before shipping, please confirm: truck series (94, 114, 124 or 144), engine (DC9, DC11 or DC12), ECU part number (module label), chassis number, and fault code or symptom.
⚠️ Do not confuse with other Scania systems
| System | Module | Technology |
|---|---|---|
| Pre-HPI — 4 Series (94/114/124/144) | Bosch MS 6.2 | Mechanical Injector Units (IU) |
| HPI — Series with DC12/DC13 HPI | EMS S6 / EMS S6E + EDC S6 | High pressure with two paired ECUs |
| XPI / NTG — New Generation | EMS S8 / EMS S10 | Common rail XPI — a single ECU |
If in doubt, send a photo of the module label via WhatsApp — the part number precisely identifies the system.
Do you have a faulty Bosch MS 6.2?
1. Contact and Triage — provide the Scania model, series, engine, and the reported defect.
2. Module Shipping — we arrange the details; you send it via postal service or carrier.
3. Bench Diagnosis — we check the processor, PSOP memory, the 6 IU actuation circuits (groups 1-2-3 and 4-5-6 and individual channels 1 to 6), the sensor circuits (rotation, oil pressure, water and oil temperature, turbo pressure), the CAN decoder, and the voltage regulator.
4. Quotation — technical report with the repair cost for your approval. No repair is performed without customer approval.
5. Repair and Re-flashing — replacement of defective components and PSOP memory re-flashing when necessary.
6. Final Test — simulation of sensors and actuators before return.
7. Shipping with Warranty — module returns with tax documentation and a 90-day technical warranty.
📦 Average lead time: 7 to 15 business days after receiving the module. 🚚 We serve all of Brazil — local pickup and delivery available in CE and PR.
Exchange Program — Remanufactured Module
Subject to availability, ECM Tech Center offers Bosch MS 6.2 revised or remanufactured modules through an exchange program. The customer sends the defective module as part of the negotiation and receives a compatible, revised, and tested unit, ready for immediate installation.
Mandatory prior assessment — describe the problem history via WhatsApp before shipping. Modules with irreversible physical damage may not be accepted as exchange credit.
Warranty
All repaired or remanufactured modules come with a 90-day technical warranty, counted from the customer's receipt. Damage from incorrect installation, polarity reversal, overvoltage, external short circuit, grounding failures, water ingress, or physical damage after receipt is not covered. Before installation, check the vehicle's power supply, grounds, wiring harness, and connectors.
