ECU Bosch EDC7 — Complete Family C1/C2 and UC31 | Repair and Remanufacturing
ECU Bosch EDC7 — Complete Family C1/C2 and UC31 | Repair and Remanufacturing
What is the Bosch EDC7 family - and why is it in so many different vehicles
The Bosch EDC7 (Electronic Diesel Control 7) is one of the most widespread electronic diesel engine control platforms in the world, especially in trucks, buses, and heavy vehicles sold in Brazil between 2000 and 2015. As a platform — and not a single product — the EDC7 exists in different hardware variants, each designed for a specific engine type.
This means that the same "EDC7" name appears in completely different vehicles: a Volksbus with a Cummins ISL and an Iveco Stralis with a Cursor 10 engine, for example, both have ECUs from the EDC7 family — but they are distinct modules, with different internal architectures and repair methods.
ECM Tech Center specializes in the technical repair of the entire EDC7 family, with a qualified team, electronic test bench, and a 90-day warranty on all services.
Which EDC7 variant is in your vehicle?
Before contacting us, identify the variant by the number printed on the label affixed to the ECU cover:
| Variant | Processor | Calibration Memory | Programming Method | Typical Application |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| EDC7 C1 / C2 | NEC/Renesas (external) | External Flash | OBD or bench | MWM Sprint, Cummins ISB/ISL/ISF engines — light and medium trucks |
| EDC7 UC31 | UCx (internal) | Internal processor memory | BDM or boot on bench | Iveco Cursor, Volvo D7E/D11F, MAN D08 engines — heavy trucks |
Not sure which one you have? Send a clear photo of the module's label (part number + software version) via WhatsApp. Our technical team will identify the variant and confirm if we can assist you before any shipment.

Do you have a faulty EDC7? Here's how our process works
We receive modules for repair from all over Brazil. The process is straightforward, transparent, and without upfront diagnostic costs — you only approve after receiving a detailed quote:
- Contact and triage — inform the vehicle model, year, and the reported defect (fault code on the scanner, symptom, or problem history)
- Module shipment — we arrange logistical details; you send it via postal service or carrier of your choice
- Bench diagnosis — for C1/C2: we analyze the external flash memory, activation transistors, capacitors, and Mprop circuit. For UC31: we analyze the UCx processor and its internal memory, injector drivers, VGT control, and CAN transceiver
- Quote — we send a technical report with the repair cost for your approval; no surprises and no upfront charges
- Repair and reprogramming — we replace faulty components and program the calibration file via OBD/bench (C1/C2) or BDM/boot (UC31)
- Final bench test — we simulate all sensors and actuators before returning
- Shipment with warranty — module returns with invoice and 90-day technical warranty
📦 Average repair time: 7 to 15 business days after module receipt.
🚚 We serve all of Brazil — local pickup and delivery available in CE and PR.
Exchange Program — Remanufactured Module Ready for Installation
In addition to repairing your module, ECM Tech Center offers an exchange program for remanufactured modules — you send us your faulty module as part of the payment and receive in return a remanufactured unit, bench-tested and ready for immediate installation.
This option is especially recommended when the vehicle cannot be out of service — fleet trucks, transport companies with tight deadlines, or buses in operation.
Attention — mandatory prior assessment: the feasibility of the exchange depends on the condition of the module sent. Modules with severe electrical damage — internally burnt, with destructive short-circuit, or physically damaged processor — may not be accepted as exchange credit. We assess the condition and transparently inform what is possible before finalizing any negotiation. Describe the problem history via WhatsApp, and our technical team will analyze it without obligation.
Warranty
All repaired or remanufactured modules come with a 90-day technical warranty from the date of receipt by the client, in accordance with our Warranty Policy. The warranty covers defects related to the performed repair — it does not cover damage caused by incorrect installation, overvoltage in the vehicle, or external electrical problems to the module.
